The AeroDawg* Canine Aerosol Chamber is the spacer that lets you give your dog a standard metered-dose inhaler. Vets commonly recommend inhaled therapy — and a chamber to deliver it — for chronic bronchitis, collapsing trachea, laryngeal paralysis and allergic airway disease. The inhaler puffs into the chamber, the medication is held there, and your dog breathes it in through a soft mask. It's a device, not a medication, so no prescription is required for the chamber itself.
Inhalers are built for people, who press and breathe in at the same moment. A dog can't do that on cue, and puffing an inhaler near a dog's face without a chamber sprays most of the dose into the air. The chamber holds the medication so your dog can draw it in over several normal breaths — which is what delivers it to the airways instead of the room.
Inhaled treatment is also why many vets favour this route: the medication goes to the lungs, so much less of it reaches the rest of the body than with oral steroids taken long-term.
The Flow-Vu* inhalation indicator is what makes the chamber dependable at home. It moves toward your dog on each breath in and returns upright as they breathe out, so you can confirm the mask is sealed and count breaths rather than guessing.
A note on sizing: AeroDawg is manufactured in a small chamber (for dogs of roughly 21 lb and under) and a large chamber (roughly 29 lb and over), and each is supplied with two mask sizes so dogs in between are covered either way. We ask for your dog's weight when you add a chamber to your cart, and our pharmacy team confirms the right size against it before your order ships.
If your dog is startled by the sound of the inhaler, press it first and then bring the mask up. If your vet has prescribed more than one puff per dose, give them one at a time and wait about 30 seconds between puffs. Your veterinarian sets the medication, the strength and the number of puffs — follow your prescription exactly, and the instructions supplied with your chamber.
Clean the chamber weekly: take it apart, soak the pieces for about 15 minutes in warm water with a mild dish soap, rinse, and stand them upright to air-dry for at least 12 hours. Don't put it in the dishwasher, don't boil or sterilise it, and don't scrub inside the barrel — the interior coating is what keeps the medication in suspension. With regular daily use, the manufacturer recommends replacing the chamber every 12 months.

No. The chamber is a device and contains no medication, so you can order it on its own. The inhaler you use with it does need a prescription from your veterinarian.
Watch the Flow-Vu indicator. If it moves toward your dog as they breathe in, the mask seal is good and the medication is moving. If it doesn't move, reseat the mask and try again.
Introduce it over several short sessions — let your dog sniff the chamber, reward them, then build up to a few breaths through the mask. Pairing it with treats works far better than holding your dog still.
